Aristeo M. Cuevas, Sr., passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, in Waco. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, June 7, at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin. A Prayer Service will be held during visitation, at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, June 8, at the First Spanish Assembly of God Church, 910 Foster Street, Marlin. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Aristeo was born September 3, 1924 in Franklin, Texas, the son of Bernardo and Herlinda Cuevas. He attended Franklin schools. He worked for many years at the Tribune Herald, and retired from Dressler Minerals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; four sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Yolanda Cuevas.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Rosas Cuevas; two daughters, Pauline Ramirez and husband, Al, of Hewitt, and Mary Jo Cuevas of Waco; five sons, Israel Cuevas and wife, Olga, of Angleton, Edward “Lalo” Cuevas of Marlin, Irie Cuevas of Robinson, Ruben Cuevas and wife, Sue, of Archbold, Ohio, and Richard Cuevas of Marlin; grandchildren, Irie Cuevas and wife, Sarai, of Waco, Sonya Guerrero and husband, Olan, of Robinson, Israel Cuevas of Robinson, Kimberly Ramirez of Dallas, Ruben Cuevas, Jr. and fiance, Delia Salazar, of Houston, Jacob Cuevas of Houston, and Jennifer Cuevas of Houston. He also leaves behind his brother, Bonifacio Cuevas and wife, Gloria, of Floydada, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Olan Guerrero, Jr. of Robinson, Ma’Ryah and Kamryn Cuevas of Robinson, and Ethan and Evan Cuevas of Waco.
