Taking A Break

Do you ever take a break from it all? A real break. One without your phone or the pressure of writing content every day.

I tried this very thing. It’s the reason you haven’t heard from me in a while.

I tried to stay away from my phone. The pull of social media, messenger, text messages, and general chatter. I tried to stop posting. It didn’t work.

It didn’t work because I am addicted to this small but powerful device. Even the enticing lure of nature couldn’t pull me away.

I want to keep trying. I need to keep trying. It’s summer after all. The sun is out and the decadence of nature longs to be explored. There are trails to hike. Roads to wheel and pools to be swam. (Is that even the right pretense? 🤣)

There are friends to visit, laughs to have, and good times to relish.

But the phone is still there, waiting to be touched and I dont know if I can get it to release its grip.
