Like a lot of us I have some great friends.
I have friends from College, some from my Canada days, friends in Essex and new friends here in Devon. Then I have my blogging friends. Some I have met, eaten with, ran with, parkrun ran with, some have even had a sleep over. Some I have not met, my virtual friends. I know I can call them friends although we have yet to meet, because the definition of a friend is ‘a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection’. I think I can be sure that if I ever make it to Tasmania I have a running partner, the same I hope could be said in America (depending where I end up its a big place!) with some sewing chat thrown in. Who knew this blogging lark would bring such friendships? Well not me for sure.
Recently I have made a new virtual friend- ceejaykay, not only do we have running in common but both have an underactive thyroid and a love of taking photographs. CJ blogged about her creation of bracelets for runners. Having checked her Etsy shop out and her lovely designs, I knew I had to have one (so clever). However before I got a chance to place an order, there came the offer of a gift from the creator herself. I insisted on purchasing them as intended, Madam I knew would love one (we are still arguing about this!). Today, two cute little boxes arrived
with a great running quote on the top ‘That’s the thing about running; your greatest runs are rarely measured by racing success, they are moments in time when running allows you to see how wonderful your life is’. So true.
And inside……
I would love to show you a picture of the other one, but Madam has disappeared with that! They are beautiful and I am very touched by such a lovely gift from someone I have not met-yet! Thanks CJ. X
Obvious choice of choc today………..
Janathon Activity- 7 miles on the bike, 3 miles ran in the sun at lunch time
PS Stairgate continues here in Chez Shaz-no he has not noticed 24 hours and counting!
Lovely bracelet and great running quote 🙂
they are indeed gorgeous, and are going to be my gifts of choice for birthdays this year 🙂
Mine too Alma, but low on stock at moment as I’ve cleared her out, will text when back in production x
Awww *sniff* you are too kind! What a lovely blog post xxx thank you Shaz and i hope you and Madam enjoy wearing them as much as i loved making them xxx
We LOVE THEM, you will be me every run now!
HOW KEWL!!!! I’ll leave janathon to you then lol!!!!
Thought you might! Lightweight
Bossy!
True!
How can he not have noticed the stairs! I mean, the smell of varnish was surely a monumental clue to the hard work you’d done. Kick him – I know I would!
Tempted I must admit, though in his defence the varnish was non smelling!
Her bracelets and necklaces are amazing! Thanks for sharing. And you’re so right about friendships–amazing how ‘bonds of affection’ can transcend immediate locale.
thank you @paigesato xxx 🙂
haaahahahaaa just saw the ‘stairgate’ quip!!!!! so funny! xxx
Great post – and so true about the blogging friendships!
I remember developing a running bracelet once too. I never got any orders though.
They weren’t as funky as yours.
Beautiful beautiful post Shaz xxx And if we do ever manage to be in the same place at the same time I would love to run with you! And as for CeeJayKay, she is just one of life’s angels, a bit like you really xxx (poor husband…if I could give him a call to nudge him the right direction I would!)
Virtual running buddies – so true! You all are!
Pooh I hope he’s noticed by the time I catch up…
