Lo stato di ignoranza
Lo stato di ignoranza è la causa di tutte le illusioni, di tutte le fantasie, di tutti gli abbagli; eppure lo stato di conoscenza non significa conoscere di più. L’ignoranza è la causa, ma conoscere non è il rimedio, conoscere nell’accezione di sapere intellettuale: puoi sapere sempre di più, rimanendo tuttavia lo stesso. Il sapere diventa una dipendenza: continui ad accumularlo, ma l’essere nel quale lo accumuli rimane lo stesso. Sai di più, ma non sei di più.
La causa prima dell’ignoranza può essere eliminata solo quando tu sei di più, quando il tuo essere è più saldo, quando ha una sua forza intrinseca, quando si è risvegliato. La causa prima di ogni sofferenza è l’ignoranza, ma il rimedio non è il sapere, il rimedio è il risveglio.
Se non comprendi questa sottile differenza, prima ti perderai nell’ignoranza, e poi ti perderai – ancora di più – nel sapere.

The state of ignorance
The state of ignorance is the cause of all illusions, all the fantasies, all the blunders; yet the state of knowledge does not mean knowing more. Ignorance is the cause, but know it is not the remedy, known in the sense of intellectual knowledge: you know more and more, while remaining the same. Knowing becomes an addiction: continue to accumulate, but being where the build-up remains the same. Do you know more, but you’re not more.
The root cause of ignorance can only be deleted when you are more, when your being is more balance, when one of its inherent strength, when you are awakened. The root cause of all suffering is ignorance, but the remedy is not knowledge, the remedy is the awakening.
If you do not understand this subtle difference, before you lose in ignorance, and then you lose – even more so – in the know.
