The French say, “Ça compte,” when speaking of whether a life matters. Litterally, it counts rather than “matters.” As in I am counting on that rope to keep me up and not down.

I have just discovered C.S. Lewis, which is sad to write. I am amazed at his insight.

I always respected C.S. Lewis. This made a valid point about trust and checking on the real faith one may have.
C.S. Lewis has always had a way of saying something in an interesting way so that it just makes sense. I guess that is a sign of a good writer.

Thank you for this quote. As the world reacts to terrorist threats and murder, do we trust that Jesus knew what he was talking about when he told us to “Love your enemies and do good to those who persecute you”? Do we believe–really believe–that God is in control?

CS Lewis always conveyed the vibrancy and power of Christianity. He did not feel it needed “watering down” to a pious soup of empty platitudes.
Hey Anna – I think that you put your finger on why I like C.S. Lewis so much. He took difficult truths and explained them in understandable ways without diminishing them.
