My getaway October 9, 2010

I’m planning my getaway . .. it won’t be very long, nor will it be very far, but a getaway it will be.  I bet you are wondering how I’m going to get away with three small children, one of whom is a newborn.  Well, like I said, I’m not going far.  In fact, I won’t even be leaving the house.  I will, however, be barricading myself in my sewing area for two days straight, surfacing only to nurse the noob.  I’m quite excited about the prospect.  Since I know myself quite well, I need to plan, plan, plan, otherwise I’ll end up wasting lots of time going, “hmmmm, what should I be doing?” rather than actually doing.

So, this week is going to be spent preparing for the getaway.  I’ve already made a list of sewing projects.  Next up, prioritizing said projects and then making sure I have the fabric, supplies and patterns needed for each project.  After that, I’ll need to finish up the project that is currently making my sewing area a disaster and get the whole place spified (how the heck do you spell that word!!?!??!) and ready.  The final step will be to make a little list or chart or table or something to keep me organized and moving.  Pretty much, I’m hoping to be able to walk into my sewing area on Sunday morning and look at my list/chart/table and say “okay, let’s get cutting for the  X” and then get going.

Looking forward to it.  T minus 6 and counting!

ETA:  I totally thought I had posted this on Monday . . .clearly, it didn’t work.  So, it’s now 36 hours away!

Have a great time!!! Hope to see the fruits of your labors! 🙂

I ended up ordering the Hunbaba mei tai. Meanwhile I am using the Moby in a newborn hold with a fair amount of success. 🙂 Ryden seems quite happy in it most of the time.

Wish you would have posted about the Rachmaninoff Vespers about two months ago – the LA Master Chorale apparently did it back on Sept. 26 at Disney Concert Hall. Then again, I kinda want to hold out for a Russian rendering :).
