Welcome back! So happy you joined me.
Over at Cupcake Inspirations (#588), the theme is Dinosaurs. I had to borrow the retired stamp set, No Bones About It, from a friend as I do not have anything in my collection that would suit. Over at Seize The Birthday (#278), the focus is the color Red. Keeping the card clean and simple for a bright little boy, I opted to use the Saturday Sketch (#745) for my layout and am sharing this with AAA Cards (#259) for their optional Birthday twist.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Real Red cardstock.
- Focal Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Brontosaurus image was stamped with Smoky Slate ink.
- The Triceratops image was stamped with Gray Granite ink.
- Using a Blender Pen, a bit of ink was removed from the inked stamps to create a white space for the animal’s eye(s).
- Using a Black Liquid Gel Pen, I added the eye(s).
- Accent Strip: (5¼” x 1⅜”) Real Red cardstock.
- Blocks: (1¾” x 1¼”) Real Red patterned pieces of paper from the Regals Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
- Sentiment: Basic White cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, Have a Dino-rrific Birthday, was stamped with Real Red ink. The three-line image was cut in sections with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. A bright yet, clean and simple card so suitable for a little fellow.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!
