Do I Have Plans For NaNoWriMo?

Actually I do have plans for NaNo this year.  October has been a strange month for me, for us here.  One day we are wicked busy.  The next day, we are curled up on the couch under blankets, trying to stay awake all day until bedtime.  Some days I accomplish a lot.  Some days I am lucky I get out of bed.

I still have my Preptober journal from a couple of years ago…a storyline that I never actually worked on yet—although I did plan the heck out of that one…I have a journal full of prep work for that one.

I have an outline from over a decade ago, a scant thing, but this is the story I work over and over in my head…that I actually have no plans to work on that for Nano this year.  I have a great deal of work to do on that yet.  I still have to decide if it will be a paranormal or just a normal romance.  Either way, that is a complicated story and I want to dedicate more time to it.

No.  This year for NaNo what I want to do is write five different ten thousand-word (each) novellas.  I have a few ideas I want to work on…a few directions I want to travel…see where the stories take me.

I have a few bits and pieces scribbled out in a random notebook, but I can find everything and I am working it through in my brain, until I get the time to sit with pen and paper.  I am a little bit excited over the upcoming NaNo this year.  Whether I get all five completed or not, I won’t have failed a thing because I will simply be happy that I started writing again.  That is far more important to me than anything else right now.  Just to start writing – that’s all I want to accomplish these days.
