Prayers for Hope and Healing September 19

September 19

Our usual 11:00 a.m. prayers for healing will return next week.

Today at 4:00 p.m., St. Phoebe School for Deacons offers a special prayer offering for this time of pandemic: Holding Space for Hope. Throughout the liturgical year, the St. Phoebe School’s students work together to offer seasonal liturgies that prepare students for the diaconate through immersion into liturgies where the needs and concerns of the world can be brought to the church. In this very extra-ordinary Ordinary Time 2020, we discerned that we needed to hold space for hope, and healing. The postulants of the St. Phoebe School have been reaching out, listening, and holding open a place for the hopes of people to break in. We have been intentional about centering voices that are too often marginalized, and inspiring visions of hope we might not otherwise encounter.

You can access the liturgy here on the Virtual Chapel of St. Phoebe at the link below or on watch live on the St. Phoebe School Facebook Page. The video of the full service will premiere at 4 p.m. and will remain fully available (and participatory) at any time following the premiere.
