   An incision in black
The vast canopy
  of the night sky
    ruptures
A faint glint
illuminates
The slither pierces as if by scalpel
beaming down upon an
  operating table
Through dim anesthesia
balance totters
The waivering channel lures
toward a final light
  leading onward

    1. Thank you. I’ve noticed there’s an audience for the darker posts. The common writer/reader revels in such darkness.
      These days the posts are few and far between. I guess I’m not in that particular mindset. My work hours will increase next week so we’ll see if that changes things 🤣
      I guess I’ll have to snark it up on one of your posts 😉

  5. For some the effect of “twilight sleep” is an opening into the darkest places of the heart and mind and for others it is the revealing of the joy of all the universe… And still the knife cuts.

    1. I’ve heard the same thing said about sensory deprivation tanks. Everything that’s in there is what you take with you. You open your mind and any buried monsters run rampant.
