Worth It

You are expensive.

You are as high maintenance as it gets. Yeah, you.

You were purchased, but not with money. No, with something of much greater value- you were purchased with blood. Not just any blood either but the perfect, sinless, blameless, powerful blood of Jesus. And it wasn’t just a few drops. You cost all of it. Every drop. Jesus died so that you could be afforded.

1 Corinthians 6:20(AMP), “You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]….”

If that’s not expensive, I don’t know what it is. Yet, here we are living day to day as if we hadn’t been purchased at all.

We allow shame to have voice in our life as if Jesus didn’t already redeem us from it. We let sickness run amuck in our bodies as if our bodies weren’t property of the Great Physician. We permit unforgiveness to brood in our hearts as if we could afford to hold a sin against someone after Jesus paid the highest price to cover, crush, and acquit it.

If you take a step back and look at all the thoughts you think about yourself, do you see yourself as valuable? If you replayed all the words you said to yourself, would they describe you as priceless?

Most people would probably answer no. Because most of us have no idea how much we’re worth.

A lack of understanding your value will turn into an inability to value others.

If we don’t understand that God loves us- like a lot, we won’t be able to love people correctly. If we don’t recognize the value of ourselves, we definitely won’t look for it in the people around us.

It’s so important that we acknowledge the price that was paid for us. Because then even when it’s someone you don’t like- you’ll be able to forgive and move forward because you see that they are more valuable than the grudge you’re holding.

It will be easier to love people like God loves us when we look at what they were purchased with rather than what they were purchased from.

We’ve all been ransomed from sin. We’ve all been saved from death. Just like Jesus found you worth everything – so are the people around you.

“That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.” -Isaiah 43:4(MSG)

Let’s start treating ourselves and others like we are priceless. Whenever you feel worthless, or alone just remember- you were bought with a price. God would trade creation in just for you. You are loved. You are highly esteemed.

Jesus went to the cross and died. How incredible to know that He looks at you now and says, “Worth it.”

Be Blessed!

  1. Amen sister! When sickness shows up in my home, I remember who is Lord over my family. It changes everything. Last week, I had to tell the devil “how dare you touch my child” I know who owns this child and I know who I am. Great post sister!
