Ensuing Black

What do you do when you’re too tired to write;

When nothing you say by voice or pen feels right?

What do you do when your Spring’s colors

Bring nothing but a faint, muted blur?

What do you do when you can’t hear nature’s song

Despite the presence of its incandescent hum for which you’ve longed?

What do you do when the richest chocolate and densest wine taste flat

Within the overwhelming, enclosing sensation of ensuing black?

How do you move your pen when you’re too tired to write;

When nothing you type helps you find a new and safe light?
