In the absence of Hot Toys releasing their awesome Cockpit Dio, I was rather pleased to stumble across this rather neat review of a Banpresto Millennium Falcon Cockpit on a GeekCulture blog. I’ve never seen or heard of these toys before, so this is quite a find for me.
This diorama is apparently ultra rare as it was only available as prize B in a competition for Ichiban Kuji.
You can get them occasionally, but they’re not cheap and the going rate for one is about $150. (It pays to shop around, though. I just bought one on Amazon for $75.) The cockpit itself is about 20cms, by 20cms and seats five WCF figurines.
The figures can stand by themselves, but they can be fixed into the cockpit with little L shaped rods. The details of the cockpit are rather nice and although this is most definitely a toy, it’s been made with a lot of love and attention.
The cockpit also has a small rear to it, so that you can display one of your figurines in the doorway.
It only comes with the Han Solo figurine, so you’d need to get the others seperately. These range in price from $15 to $25 and they’re well worth getting. I’ll keep an eye out for the other ANH figurines for it.
