Blooms n Blue

Sheer and delicate Cloth and Stone Tavira Buttondown by Anthropologie

Flower patterns and embroideries have been making their strides in the retail world since last year and are definitely burgeoning now.  We see them on dresses, rompers, jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, pants, shoes, bags…you get my point.  I was watching the recent Peter Rabbit movie and I couldn’t help but notice the use of floral in Rose Byrn’s character (Bae)’s outfits.  Against an idyllic backdrop of the countryside, her clothes, with their ruffles and flower prints are simply lovely.  I was so taken by her dresses and tops that I have been browsing for more details on them, but, to no avail.  I did, however, recently find a floral top at Anthropologie which spoke to the oft-hidden romantic side of me.

Sheer and delicate Cloth and Stone Tavira Buttondown Shirt by Anthropologie in blue motifThe Tavira Buttondown in blue motif is a darling of a light and airy shirt by Cotton and Cloth.  A lighter shade of corn blue in color, it is scattered with flower prints in a soft color palette.  It is a little romantic and a little bohemian in vibe, in my opinion.   It is especially pretty when paired with gold color jewelry.

Being of short stature, this shirt is long on me, ending a little under my hip area.  I wear it tucked loosely into my jeans with a simple brown belt.  It also looks really cute tied in the front, by the way, or even loosely buttoned as an outer layer.  The sleeves are sloppily long on me but I just roll them up a little and it’s a non-issue.

Cloth and Stone Tavira Buttondown by AnthropologieI am a little unsure, however, if this pretty top will last.  The material is almost tissue-thin and painfully delicate. Cami underneath is a must and hand washing is the only way to go.  It is really pretty, though, and wonderfully soft, enticing me to keep it.
