Walking in the Woods!

Poor Marc has been sick for a week now, started with a cold and became complicated with vertigo.  Consequently, he’s been at home literally laying low!  I won’t stray far from home as I like to check in on him from time to time so today I opted to enjoy a short walk at the Fonte de Benemole, a short jaunt into the mountains, and shared in this pleasure with our friends from Ottawa, Beth and Derek as well as Pat and Gary.  It was a perfect outing and the weather co-operated fully.   Not too hot and not too windy.

Vinca minor – Lesser Periwinkle
A large cluster of Palmate Anemone or Yellow Anemone
Once section of the path required slight navigation into the foilage to avoid wet feet, or worse still, a wet butt from slipping in the mud.
Loved this large stone and it’s pinkish hew. Also the small fern growing from the crack in the stone. Mother Nature is certainly generous and what power!r

We left Derek comfortably situated in a chair with a good book at the start of the walk.  He is “Mais ou menos” recovering from a knee replacement and wasn’t certain a walk like this would be a good idea.

A wonderful outing followed by a lovely lunch…….a perfect way to wile away part of the day and not stray too far from home.

    Looked like a nice hike with some nice flora. Hope Marc is feeling better soon – vertigo is not fun.
