UFC Featherweight Connor McGregor is set to take his next step into the biggest spotlight in the MMA World this weekend at UFC Fight Night live from the TD Garden in Boston.

He has been very vocal about his skills since day one of stepping into the UFC and plans to further back up his boast this weekend against UFC veteran Dennis Siver. McGregor, who is 16 – 2 overall, and 4 – 0 in the UFC, has electrified crowds with his highlight reels of knockouts and submission finished.

Since coming to the UFC on April 6, 2013, he has done everything possible to jump up the Featherweight rankings and destroy any man Dana White has decided to put into his path. He knocked out Marcus Brimage in a little over a minute to earn Knockout of the Night honors in his debut and has been rolling on from there. He has also knocked out the very talented Diego Brandao as well as Dustin Poirier in his last two bouts. Both of them are opponents who are highly regarded in the MMA world.

Dana White is now on record saying that if McGregor can get past Siver this weekend that he will receive the next Featherweight title shot against current champion Jose Aldo, who many around the MMA community consider the best pound for pound fighter in the world. That bout has dream matchup written all over it. It is also been rumored that if the fight occurs, it would be held in Ireland, the home turf of Connor McGregor in front of what would surely be a raucous crowd.

McGregor is a former CWFC Featherweight Champion and Lightweight Champion, which made him the first professional Irish fighter to hold titles in two separate divisions. He holds a boxing background and has also trained in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Capoeira.

His well-rounded skills make him a dangerous threat to any opponent and his ability to hype a fight with guaranteeing quick knockouts and then coming through with them, is sure to spike buy rates and keep UFC ownership singing his praises for a long time to come.
