Our theme for today is Feminine, which we can interpret any way we like. I am also playing along with TGIF and their color challenge. These colors will be retiring when the new catalog comes out, so I was happy to have an excuse to use them in a challenge.

Of course, the Flirty Flamingo color automatically says “Flamingos”, and “Feminine”, so, my card today features just that. A feminine flamingo!

I started with a Sweet Sugarplum card base. After going around the edge of my panel of Peek A Boo Peach with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, I adhered it to the base. Then, I started on the focal point. Instead of stamping the bird in Flirty Flamingo, I stamped it in Memento Black on a panel of Flirty Flamingo card stock and fussy cut it. Be careful of those skinny legs!

Then I got to work on the background for the flamingo. On a panel of Whisper White, I stamped the water in Marina Mist, then very lightly sponged a little more Marina Mist to tone down the white.

The sky is Sweet Sugarplum, Rose Red, and so Saffron, sponged to imitate a sunrise. I carried a little of the color down into the ‘water’ as a reflection.

Pear Pzazz sea grass and stamped off once Always Artichoke palm leaves, all from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set,  finish the scene. Almost. I liquid glued the flamingo into the scene,  and added the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black from the Heartfelt Blooms set.

This panel was then Liquid Glued to a Flirty Flamingo mat and onto the card base. To give a little sumpin’ sumpin’ to the front, I adhered a Clear Epoxy Shape to the eye of the flamingo, and a couple of the Glitter Epoxy Shapes to the water.

For the inside, I stamped some palm leaves on a Whisper White panel and left room to write a note to the recipient. It has been so abnormally cold here and it snowed on Sunday, so I thought some southern warmth would make her feel better.

For the envelope, I stamped more palm leaves on the flap,

and another flamingo on the front, which I colored in with my Stampin’ Write Markers.

I think these colors make for a very feminine card.

    1. Thanks Mary. It is for friend who had hip surgery. They go to Florida in the winter, and since it has snowed twice since they returned, I thought the ‘Florida’ theme perfect for her.
