2019 May 27 Monday Memorial Day in Cutty’s, Grimes, Des Moines, and Urbandale, Iowa

Another 1/2″ of rain overnight.

I had the day off from the fee booth again today.

From 8:30 to 10:00 their was a communal breakfast at the Cutty’s clubhouse. It’s a good time to visit with friends, some of which we haven’t seen for 8+ months.

From 10 to 10:30 I conducted a memorial service at Cutty’s “flag island”. Every branch of the United States Armed Forces had a flag flying. Though the above photos don’t show it, there were about 20 who attended. Though it was sunny for must of the time, it was getting dark and stormy looking also.

Later in the day we drove to the cemetery where my parents and sisters are buried. There is just a plaque with the name Williams. No names nor dates. My father died in 1952, youngest sister in 1956, mother in 1994, and oldest sister in 2016. My brother (who is not buried there) died in 1994 also.

God bless and g’nite
