Taste of Bath would like to wish our lovely Content Manager Sal all the best as she moves on to a new job! Sal has been with Taste of Bath for eight years, almost since the beginning, and as the voice of Taste of Bath you’ll certainly have read her writing in our newsletters, press releases, website and more. Sal has now started a new business, Little Loop Embroidery (@littleloopembroidery on Instagram), creating custom artwork and upcycling clothes and shoes in fabulous fashion (she’s a woman of many talents!) and will be retiring from Taste of Bath to focus on that as well as a volunteering role with Dorothy House Hospice. Our loss is their gain, and although we’ll be really sad to say goodbye to Sal, we’re also really excited for her to take the next steps in two areas she’s really passionate about.
At various points over the last eight years Sal has been involved in almost every part of Taste of Bath, from helping to choose new products and design hampers, to training other staff and managing other freelancers, to taking gorgeous photos for our social media and representing us at events like Bath Boules (we’ll definitely miss her boules skills next time we compete).
“One of my proudest achievements over my time at TOB has been helping to set up the Bath Bookbank,” Sal says. “I’ve always loved working with the Foodbank team on different fundraising and awareness projects and I think the Bookbank is the culmination of that! I’m a massive bookworm myself and a love of reading has brought me so many benefits, so I’m really happy to have helped local kids access brilliant new books.”
Sal’s always been a problem-solving champion, keen to spot wherever there’s a gap or a potential issue and get stuck in to fix it, and is almost as much of a perfectionist as Helen – which is probably why they’ve worked well together for so long! We’d like to say the biggest possible thank you to Sal for all her hard work over the years, and wish her all the best for her new adventures.
Jo, TOB Operations Director, says, “Sal has been a key part of Taste of Bath’s development and an invaluable member of the team. We will miss her passion for all things local and tasty as well as her incredible wordsmithery, but we know Sal is going to do incredible things with her new projects!”
