Travel Week, Running Day, and Sheraton

Happy Friday! I hope you all are having a great start to your May so far. It’s already starting to warm up here in Dallas, which I love, but I’m not quite ready for the Texas summer yet. I do have some exciting news! I have been called back to my previous job! It’s temporary, at least 6 weeks and then we’ll go from there. The first day, was a lot. Super overwhelming, emotional, and rough. It felt like I had missed the joke and was coming in at the punchline. SO much had happened in the 6 weeks (?) I’d been gone. But by Wednesday, I started to feel more at ease and normal. Which is an awesome feeling.

Did you know that we are just one month away from Global Running Day?? I’m by no means in good running shape but when I remembered that was coming up I figured now is as good a time as any. My goal is to run at least 2x a week and hopefully 5 miles a week. I may have to throw in some walking for sure. And on actual Global Running Day, I’m going to run a 10K! I’d love for you to join me in anyway, I’m definitely going to post about it on socials. If you do, make sure to use #eatrunsouthern so I can see your posts!

Going back this week was sorta serendipitous? Coincidental? Something. Because this week is National Travel & Tourism Week. One of the fun weeks that we in hotels and travel get to celebrate and show people our love and appreciation along with sharing facts. This time last year, I was working with VisitFrisco at a table in my hotel handing out to our guests cookies that had Frisco tourism facts. Travel and tourism has such an economic impact but also a great personal impact. I read today that “approximately 100 million travel sector jobs, have been eliminated or will be. I love hotels and hospitality because of the true hospitality and care I’m able to show clients, guests, and travelers. It’s been such a hard 2 months and it’s hard to celebrate right now. But one thing I’ll say, once it’s safe to do – please travel again. Book directly through the .com website (no Expedia or Priceline) and travel! Staycations and vacations, there are great options everywhere.

I’m currently working on a fun décor project. Follow my IG for updates in the stories – I’ll post the final product probably next week. Not sure where I’m taking it yet lol. I’m gonna try and get some baking done tonight and share a recipe next week J

Have a great rest of your week and stay safe!
