Hump Day Hype: #12

Good morning y’all. I hope y’all are having a wonderful day so far. It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for Hump Day Hype! I hope y’all are hyped for this Wednesday’s pick!

Hump Day Hype is a post I do every Wednesday where I choose a book I’m excited to read. It can be a new release, a book soon to be released, or an old release I’m just excited to read. I highly encourage anyone to join with a post of their own or down in the comments!

bravelands

Synopsis:

A lion cast out from his tribe.

An elephant who can read the bones of the dead.

A baboon rebelling against his destiny.

For generations, the animals of the African plains have followed a single rule: only kill to survive. But when an unthinkable act of betrayal shatters the peace, the fragile balance between predators and prey will rest in the paws of three unlikely heroes.

Set in an epic new world and told from three different animals’ points of view, Bravelands will thrill readers who love Spirit Animals and Wings of Fire, as well as the legion of dedicated fans who’ve made Erin Hunter a bestselling phenomenon.

My Thoughts:

I got this book over the Summer and I’m really excited to read it. I need to finish my current book if I ever plan on reading this one though. I’ll need this fun, light, and easy read after the book I’m reading which is a little slow and a tad boring. I’m still hoping it’ll pick up or ‘wow’ me at least a little.

This book is a middle grade book which is great because they’re always fun and easy to read. Plus it’s about animals and it’s told from their perspective so can it even get any better?

I’ve read one of Erin Hunter’s series before and it was the Seekers series which is told by the perspective of bears. I didn’t finish the series because it was before I really got into reading, but I would like to reread the series and actually finish it one of these days. Erin has a few other series’ one is the Warriors series and the other series is Survivor.

I just found out “Erin Hunter” is a pseudonym for five people who write the books. I can’t believe I never knew that. Now I don’t know what I’m supposed to say. Do I say they/them? He? She? Oh well that’s pretty interesting to know though.

Have any of y’all read any of these series’? If so what did ya think? Do any of y’all like middle grade? Comment down below! ❤

  1. I’ve heard for refering to groups of people (or just not knowing their gender,) you just use “they/them” until you get confirmation. (At least that’s what some people are trying to do in the English language.)

(Also I love reading your insights to these books! I mostly see them on instagram, but I love getting information about these books!)

    1. Thank you so much!!! Yeah that’s what I’ve heard too so I guess I’ll just use they/them since its multiple people writing the book…that or I’ll just use the name Erin Hunter haha. ❤
