Blogging Goals And Hijabs (Mai Official) – Day 1 of 2018

Hey lovely people, and a huge Happy New Year to you all. I hope that everyone is safe and well after their New Year celebrations!

It is officially 2018, and I am so excited for more growth, new experiences, lots of achievements and much more.

I feel like 2017 was a very pivotal year for me, as there were so many traumatic moments yet I managed to overcame everything thrown at me – and now I’m stronger than ever before. 2017 was the year of unlearning so many things that were detrimental to my well-being, ridding myself of people that were holding me back, remembering that “No.” is a full sentence (I don’t ever need to explain myself to anyone) and finally living in the moment.

I’ve got a long, and growing, list of topics to share, and discuss, with you all this year – which is so exciting to me! One of my goals is to grow my blog bigger and better than ever. I’m also happy to announce that I’m finally going to start making YouTube videos so that (1) I can have visual documentation of my life and thoughts, (2) so that you all can get to see my oddly-fabulous personality and (3) to go into more detail about the topics I write about – as some may find reading a bit boring.

As the year drew to an end, I started to take more notice of my statistics on here and I noticed that the times where I was at my lowest points I didn’t post and eventually people stopped reading. Then, I would feel better and have to start fresh (building traffic all over again isn’t easy). I have finally found a balance and turned things around, so that when I’m low I’m even more motivated to write/work because it brings me a step closer to happiness. Then, when I’m happy, I’m even more motivated to write/work so that I can stay happy.

The glass is always full

So, I’m going to set myself the goal of posting every single day for January! I would really love to post every day for the whole entire year, however I’m not going to push it right now (haha). I’m going to take it one step at a time, and once I’ve succeeded through January then I will try February – and so on.

This is my online diary, and I want my loved ones, myself and people around the world, to be able to look back at this in years to come and see my growth – and learn from my mistakes/fortunes.

Before I go, I wanted to let you all know about a recent online store that I stumbled across for Hijabs/scarves. The store is called Mai Official and they offer a vast variety of beautiful Hijabs/scarves.

People wear headscarves for multiple reasons, so this isn’t only for Muslims – it’s for everyone who wears, or wants to wear, a scarf. I love my hair but I equally love covering my hair, so wearing a scarf, for me, is usually dependant on my mood – when I’m feeling super-chilled or super-busy. Basically, I wear them more often than not nowadays and I’m loving it – although my manager at my office job says it doesn’t look “professional”. Blah!

Something about dressing modestly, covered up completely, makes me feel the most beautiful but, on the other hand, sometimes I just wish I could go everywhere in just my underwear. Does anyone else feel this way? Please let me know.

Anyway, I decided that I needed some new Hijabs/scarves for the new year, in order to build up my collection and practice new styles.

After browsing the whole site, and falling in love with everything, I picked three to start with – and I wanted to briefly show them to you (click the links if you want to find out where you can purchase directly).

The first scarf I ordered was the ‘AW17 Extra Long Soft Chiffon Ridged Hijab in Caramel’ for £9.95. Photos below.

The second scarf I ordered was the ‘Crinkle Maxi Hijab (Hues Collection) in Powder Blush’ for £7.95. Photos below.

The last scarf I ordered was the ‘Gold Beaded Trim Maxi Hijab in Dusty Pink’ for £8.95. Photos below.

Shopping on the Mai Official website was so smooth and easy. They have so many gorgeous and affordable Hijabs, and I can’t wait to shop with them again. Delivery was super fast and the customer service was great – they kept me updated throughout the whole process, which only took 3 days. It was a very nice experience for me, so I highly recommend going to them for your Hijabs/scarves.

Also, I didn’t know that their was an emoji on iPhones for women who wear Hijabs until I wrote this. How fab?! 🧕

Right , I’m off to attempt to make YouTube videos for you all and to eat vegan nuggets in abundance, because it’s 2018 and I’m happy!

Thank you all for reading. I shall speak to you all tomorrow (Eek!).

Love and light, Liss x
