Adam West’s 10 Best Voice Acting Roles

In honour of the one and only Adam West, we take a look at our favourite voice acting roles. Warning: many Batman parodies found within…

Uncle Art – Meet The Robinsons (2007)

West appeared in the underrated Disney movie Meet the Robinsons as Uncle Art – a guy who resembles, dresses and acts like a Superman-like superhero when he’s actually a pizza delivery guy.

Young Mermaid Man – Spongebob Squarepants (2010)

Spongebob‘s Mermaid Man was always a clear homage to Batman ’66 so it was wonderful casting to have West play the younger Mermaid Man in one episode of the show. Robin himself Burt Ward joined him to voice the young Barnacle Boy, Mermaid Man’s sidekick.

Mayor Grange – The Batman (2004-2006)

West continued his long history with Batman cartoons with The Batman, on which he had a recurring part as Gotham City’s Mayor Grange. It’s a clever role as it also alludes to his famous role in Family Guy (more on that later). The character is a gender-swapped version of Marion Grange from the comics.

Thomas Wayne – Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2010)

Adam West appeared only twice on The Batman’s successor Batman: The Brave and the Bold but they were two perfectly cast roles. In one episode, he voiced the Proto-Bat – a robot Batman built to cover him when he is away from Gotham. In another episode, he played Thomas Wayne, Batman’s father. Catwoman herself Julie Newmar also appeared as Martha Wayne.

Timothy North/Fearless Ferret – Kim Possible (2003)

West once again parodied his role as Batman on King Possible. He starred as Timothy North (see what they did there?), the actor of a classic superhero TV show Fearless Ferret. Since the cancellation of the show, North had gone mad and truly believed himself to be a superhero. Funnily enough, Kim’s friend Ron Stoppable is voiced by Will Friedle, who played Terry McGinnis on Batman Beyond.
