The BOOKTERNET All-Star Charity Challenge

I am randomly watching YouTube videos when I stumble upon this challenge. All you have to do is talk about the books or authors that will be on the checkboard. By doing so, you can also help raise money for a charity. For every video, Instagram post, Twitter post, or blog post the creator Rachel Marie will donate €1 to the pot. You can also donate if you like to help raise more money. This challenge will run from April 22 to May 31 so you still have time to participate.

If you want to join, here are more details about the charity challenge.

I will be linking other necessary links, posts, and videos down below but for now, let’s get into this challenge!

bookternet-all-stars-charity-challenge-board-1ANGIE THOMAS author of The Hate You Gave On The Come Up

↣ I have heard a lot about her and her books but I never pick it up. I don’t always gravitate towards contemporary books and hers have deep issues that need to be seriously acknowledged. And it is very rare for me to pick up a heavy topic books so that’s that.

SHATTER ME SERIES by Tahereh Mafi

↣ Read the first 3 books in the series back in the golden age of dystopia and I love it. But I am struggling with the 4th book right now because it felt different than the first 3. Will I continue the series? Stay tuned.🤣

LEIGH BARDUGOauthor of the Grishaverse

↣ I have not read any of her books but I have the Six of Crow duology on my shelf. I wanted to read her books although there are mixed reviews. But I don’t know if it is a crime to pick up Six of Crows if you haven’t read The Shadow and Bone trilogy yet.

THE FOLK OF THE AIR TRILOGY by Holly Black

↣ I have heard about this book a lot but out of all the books that are included in the list, this is the only book that I have no intention of picking up. It’s not that I don’t like the author or the book itself, I just don’t like fairy stories.

THE BONE WITCH by Rin Chupeco

↣ I remember seeing this book in the bookstore when it first came out and I was actually intrigued with the synopsis. But I no longer know what this book is about but I heard good things about it. Hopefully, I could read this soon-ish.

V.E. SCHWABauthor of the Shades of Magic Trilogy

↣ This author has a lot of famous books that I want to read. But I am more excited to pick up the Shades of Magic Trilogy. However, there are books that I want to read in physical format and this is one of those. I seriously need to get my hands on her books.

THE LUNAR CHRONICLES by Marissa Meyer

↣ I feel like this challenge is more about me digging my own grave because once again, I have not read this series yet. My friend read it and loved it but I don’t know why I never pick it up. This is one of those cases where I put off the book for too long that I lost interest after.

ADAM SILVERAauthor of More Happy Than Not They Both Die at the End

↣ I finally read something from this list.🤣 I have read More Happy Than Not and I love it. One of the first LGBTQ+ book that I have ever read. I cried because of the ending. But as much as I love an open ending, his books are kinda tragic so I really need to be in the mood to pick up one of his books again.

CASSANDRA CLAIRE – author of the Shadowhunter novels

↣ Believe it or not, I caved in with the hype about her books and I read the first 4 books of the Mortal Instrument but I did not continue after the 4th book because I don’t feel like it. I also read the first 2 books of the Infernal Devices trilogy and I like it better than TMI. but I am not attached to the characters and I put off reading the last book for a long time that I am no longer interested in finishing the trilogy.

THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO by Taylor Jenkins Reid

↣ Another book that I really want to get into but I have not pick it up yet. However, I already downloaded the audiobook for Daisy Jones & the Six and if I love that book, I would surely get into this ASAP.

LAINI TAYLOR – author of Daughter of Smoke and Bones trilogy Strange the Dreamer duology

↣My queen. My favorite author of all time. And Daughter of Smoke and Bones is one of my favorite trilogies of all time. I have yet to read Strange the Dreamer but I will get there. I also enjoyed Lips Touch and the illustrations are so beautiful.

bookternet-all-stars-charity-challenge-board-1-11THE ILLUMINAE FILES by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

↣ I have already finished the whole trilogy and I love it. Though the first book is still my favorite even though the second book is as good. The final book is good too but I feel like we don’t have a chance to get attached to the new characters before the story gets too intense. Highly recommend!

ARC OF A SCYTHE TRILOGY by Neil Shusterman

↣ The whole trilogy is on my shelf right now and I haven’t picked it up yet. I hope to read it very soon because I really like the plot of this book.

bookternet-all-stars-charity-challenge-board-1-13

SARAH J. MAAS – author of Throne of Glass & A Court of Thorns and Roses

↣ I have read 2 chapters of Throne of Glass and I put it down because the plot is similar with the book that I just finished and I haven’t picked it up since. However, I am quite intrigued by her new book House of Earth and Blood so I might pick that up instead of her earlier works.

AN EMBER IN THE ASHES SERIES by Sabaa Tahir

↣ I have read the first book when it came out and I love it. But I have not continued on with the rest of the series even though I have them on my shelf because I want it to be completed first. I don’t want to read a cliffhanger so I am patiently waiting. But there are rumors about a fifth book, which I don’t know what to feel.

bookternet-all-stars-charity-challenge-board-1-15

SEANAN MCGUIRE – author of the Wayward Children Series Middlegame

↣I have read all the books in the Wayward Children series except the 2020 release. I will surely read this before the year ends. But I’ve been eyeing Middlegame as well because I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.

bookternet-all-stars-charity-challenge-board-1-16

THE POPPY WAR by R.F. Kuang

↣ This is one of those books that I need a physical copy to read and I know I will not be contented with an e-book so I have not read it yet. But I really want to. And the cover is so pretty I need this on my shelf.

bookternet-all-stars-charity-challenge-board-1-17

TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE Trilogy by Jenny Han

↣I read the first 2 books but I am not planning to read the last book. I hate Peter K. especially after a scene that happened in the second book. You don’t do that to your girlfriend. Team John Ambrose all the way. And if I were to reread the first two books again, I feel like I will not enjoy it as much.

So that is it for this Charity Challenge. I feel so outdated with the books that I am reading.🤣 Anyway, I am tagging everyone to do this tag. Let’s help out in our little ways.

Here is the video of the creator: BOOKTERNET All Star Original
