Dear Church and Friends,
I hope this finds you well and enjoying (as much as you can) this corona life. Today, I want to go back to the Psalms. I think that for this Thursday newsletter going forward we will treat ourselves to a passage from David’s Treasure.
What is biblical love and hate? Let’s imagine that Jim is unemployed. He looks for a job and finally the AXYZ company makes him an offer. To take their offer Jim has to sign a contract. It states that for a period of five years Jim has to work for AXYZ to receive all the employee perks. He cannot entertain any offers from another company during that time. So, Jim signs the contract. Two years into his employment the Fury YAXZ company makes Jim an offer. Jim immediately turns them down even though they offer him more than he is currently making.
Jim’s actions demonstrate covenant love and hate. His faithfulness to the AXYZ company shows covenant love and his rejection of the Fury YAXZ company illustrate covenant hate. Love, in this case, is faithfulness and hate is discrimination. Check out the video for more.
