Cardiff RFC have been drawn to play Bedwas RFC in the quarter-finals of the WRU National Cup, with the game to be played on the weekend of the 22nd March.

It will be the third time the teams will have faced off this season, with Cardiff winning at Bedwas back on a wet September evening, while the next league meeting is scheduled for

So far this season the Blue and Blacks have seen off Tata Steel, with a 43-73 scoreline in Port Talbot, while last weekend a 15-27 win was secured over RGC in Colwyn Bay. Tries from Joey Tomlinson, Adam Jones, Max Llewellyn and Llywarch ap Myrddin making it a happy journey home.

It is the first time Cardiff RFC have made it this far in the WRU National Cup since the 2013/14 competition when a bye and a win over Newbridge got us to the third round before losing to Cross Keys at the Arms Park.

You have to go back to 2006/07 for the last trip to the Final, when the Blue and Blacks lost to Llandovery at the Principality Stadium, while we last lifted the trophy in 1996/97, the most recent win of seven triumphs.

Elsewhere Llandovery host Swansea, the only Championship club left Pontypool welcome Bridgend, and the headline tie sees Merthyr take on Pontypridd at The Wern.
