Plagiarism July 15, 2019

Standard Disclaimer:

I am not an attorney and any comments I post are not intended, nor should they be construed, as legal advice. If you need legal advice, please consult a legal expert who is familiar with the area of legal expertise you need.

I have seen a number of exchanges between bloggers or diehard fanboys/girls, often one-sided, where the bloggers or diehard fanboys/girls lay false accusation(s) against a vlogger or blogger. The false accusations may be on the person’s blog/vlog and/or on other social media outlets. If that’s not bad enough, the false accusers are often guilty of whatever claims they make against the falsely accused.

Depending on the manner of the false claim, verbal vs. written, as to what legal recourse the falsely accused could pursue. Sadly, it’s usually more trouble than it’s worth to take the bait in these cases.

In one case, somebody showed me the false accusation and I checked out the blog of the person making the false claim. Let’s just say, the blogger making the claim was guilty of exactly what they falsely claimed the other person was doing, plus the accuser was also guilty of rampant plagiarism. Seems they had no problem presenting large chunks of other’s people work as their own.

If I am going to quote somebody or some website, I am going to either do “insert quoted text” or

quoted text

I am also going to put a link to where I got the quoted text. In a recent example that will be my next blog post, https://upsdownsfamilyhistory.wordpress.com/2019/07/15/gulf-coast-gator-ranch-moss-point-mississippi-mondays-july-15-2019 (goes live at 5:05 P. M.
