14 of present 25 CJs/Acting CJs shall retire in 2023, which includes CJs Pankaj Mithal & Sanjay Karol JJ who are yet to be elevated as SC Judges as per Collegium Recommendation of 13.12.2022.

CJ of Gauhati HC, R.M. Chhaya J shall retire on 11.01.2023. K. Vinod Chandran J of Kerala HC is yet to be elevated as Gauhati HC CJ as per Collegium Recommendation of 13.12.2022.

A. Abhishek Reddy J [D.O.B. 07.11.1967] of Telengana HC is yet to be transferred to Patna HC as per Collegium Recommendation of 24.11.2022. Vipul M. Pancholi J [D.O.B. 28.05.1968] of Gujarat HC is yet to be transferred to Patna HC as per Collegium Recommendation of 29.09.2022. Both are a possible CJI No. 58.

Aparesh Kumar Singh J of Jharkhand HC, even while was to be transferred to Tripura HC as per Collegium Recommendation of 28.09.2022, was appointed as Acting CJ of Jharkhand HC on 20.12.2022.
