There’s a chill in the air now and a heavy dew in the morning but the leaves on the trees are still green. Up on the hill, the fireweed is living up to its name as flame red leaves catch the sun and the seeds take flight on feathery tails, like wisps of smoke.
Amy’s theme for this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge is Colours of Autumn. Apart from the fireweed (or rosebay willowherb) it’s a little early for autumn colour here. So here’s a scrapbook of autumn colour, from past Octobers and Novembers.

Maple Orange – October 2015
Katsura – Edinburgh Botanics – October 2020
Faded Bracken – Forêt de Fontainebleau – October 2015

Reed and Oak – Jardin des Plantes – November 2018
Gold on grey – Cimitière Père Lachaise, Paris – November 2016

Ooo, what a marvellous gallery! They all go together well, but I especially love the door (of course), the cemetery leaves and Autumn Grandeur.

Thanks, Manja. That door only just made it into the selection, but I thought the post was getting a bit too leafy!

A lovely album of past autumns 🙂 I’m particularly taken by your Père Lachaise shot, which looks monochrome apart from the golden leaves – beautiful!

Thanks for your comment, Sarah. That monochrome effect was simply the colour of the day, transformed by the leaves!

Thank you. There’s something about a smooth carpet of fallen leaves that always looks inviting.

Superb. Banner photo, maple leaf, and gold on grey are my most faves, but many stand-outs also.
