NaNoWriMo // Day 2

Writer’s note: If this post seems familiar, it was originally written and published on the evening of 11/2/22 on Substack. I wrote in real time during NaNoWriMo 2022. However, in making future plans for my online writing spaces, I have decided to house my NaNoWriMo 2022 story here on Mrs. Writer. Very little changes, if any, have been made. Enjoy!

This is coming to you all 51 minutes before the dawn of Day 3 hits, but I did! I achieved another 1,667+ words today. On track to cross that 50,000-word deadline on time.

I wrote 1,804 words today. Cue all the confetti.

Morning Session

This morning after grocery shopping and the tiniest bit of house things immediately following that, I wrote Day 1’s Update first. That left me enough time to eat a snack, get ready for work, read for a bit, and write for about 30 mins.

I set a timer to help focus and from 11:30ish to noon, I wrote 632 words.

In the Interim

Work. Dinner. Bible Study. Return DVD to the library. Home again! Sign-up to try and be a verified Taylor Swift ticket buyer. (We’ll find out the evening of 11/14.) Read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone while having ice cream.

During this time, I also learned about the website from a fellow Wrimo: Pomodoro Kitty. It’s just an internet cat timer. You can change the background color of the web page and the cat itself. Also adjust the time on the timer too. I set it up and turned my phone’s Sleep Focus mode on.

I tried to design it to look like our old lady cat, Moochy. Do they look alike?

Evening Session

From just a few minutes before 10pm to basically right up to 11pm, I wrote 1,172 words.

I’m still ahead!

And tired.

But happy. And proud of myself.

Slow and steady wins the race, people.
