The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, on Sunday discussed with President of the American Institute of Peace headed by Nancy Linburg and the accompanying delegation the situation of the displaced in the territory of the region.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed its pleasure to visit the region and thanked the provincial government for the activities and activities of the Institute’s offices in the region and to receive the large numbers of displaced persons and refugees fleeing the war, stressing their cooperation with the provincial government to build confidence in the areas where the displaced people fled.
The US delegation expressed concern that the displaced people did not return to their areas because of the lack of security and lack of services, stressing that serious dialogue between government agencies and the people of the region is necessary.
For his part, Barzani thanked the delegation and assured the delegation that the Kurdistan Regional Government is making every effort to rebuild confidence and dialogue between the various components in order to return the displaced and provide services to them.
Barzani briefed on the political process in Iraq and efforts to build good relations between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region, which contributed to address a number of problems and will be a dialogue to address the remaining problems.
Barzani pointed to the efforts to form a new government in the Kurdistan Region, stressing that there are serious efforts between the parties aimed at forming the government as soon as possible.
The discussion of the situation in the region and the latest political developments and the situation of displaced people and refugees in the Kurdistan region was another focus of the meeting.
