Dr. Stephanie Moore-Reed, assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, was one of seven faculty members on campus to receive the 2017 Provost’s Award for Promising New Faculty. Recipients of this prestigious award are recognized for their exemplary achievements in teaching, research, creative activities and service.
Dr. Moore-Reed began her teaching career at Fresno State in 2013 and has since published eight peer-reviewed articles with Dr. W. Ben Kibler, who is regarded as one of the best shoulder surgeons in the world. Reed is currently leading a team of faculty tasked with transitioning the undergraduate athletic training program to a Master’s of Science in Athletic Training. She prioritizes student involvement and class engagement, and is known among students for making learning positive and intriguing.
According to the University, recipients of the Provost’s Awards provide students with a stimulating environment that fosters learning and affirms the University as the intellectual and cultural leader of the San Joaquin Valley. The purpose of the Provost’s Awards is to honor those faculty members who set new standards of excellence and represent the heart of this great university.
Moore-Reed was honored recently at the 106th University Commencement on May 20th. She will have the opportunity to present her work and research with the campus community during the Provost’s Awards Lecture Series, slated for fall 2017.
