Noticed last Friday on twitter there’s been a new Cumulative Update for Skype for Business Server, im just getting round to blogging about it.
There’s been debate on whether this is CU7 or CU6 HF2, Greig had this posted on his Blog and had confirmation its CU6 HF2. Thanks Greig and Tim for confirmation.
So the March 2018 CU is CU6 HF2.
Update Version is now 6.0.9319.516
Date published 16/03/2018
Its listed on the KB here
We recommend that you install the March 2018 release only if you experience any of the issues that are described in the following "Improvements and fixes" list.
(I wonder if this is why is a Hotfix CU not a full CU) Ill check for this on the next CU it may help identify if its a HF or new CU version.

Full details on Fixes
This cumulative update fixes the following issues:
If your using Shared Line Appearances or a SfB Mac User and have Enhanced presence privacy mode or have CU6 and issues with Mobile client or any of the others below you will need this CU!
Fixes | Cause and Fix |
|
When you run the New-CsHybridApplicationEndpoint cmdlet to create a user object in Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015, you find that the ApplicationOptions attribute of the user object is missing.
To fix this issue, install the March 2018 cumulative update 6.0.9319.516 for Skype for Business Server 2015, Core Components. |
|
When you deploy Shared Line Appearance (SLA) in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, the RtcHost.exe process consumes too much memory on a Skype for Business Server 2015 Front End server.
To fix this issue, install the March 2018 cumulative update 6.0.9319.516 for Skype for Business Server 2015, Front End Server and Edge Server. |
|
After you apply Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 CU6 (December 2017 Cumulative Update), users are unable to sign in Skype for Business mobile apps over the Internet unless the following cmdlet is run:
Set-CsExternalAccessPolicy -EnableOutsideAccess $True
This issue occurs because the EnableOutsideAccess parameter in the ExternalAccessPolicy cmdlet applies to Skype for Business clients that use Unified Communications Web API (UCWA). For example, Skype for Business on Mac and Skype for Business mobile apps. The default value of the EnableOutsideAccess parameter is False that restricts external access for all UCWA clients of Skype for Business. This update enforces the ExternalAccessPolicy only applies to Skype for Business desktop clients (Skype for Business on Windows and Skype for Business on Mac). |
|
With the enhanced presence privacy mode enabled in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, the call fails when you start a person-to-person or conference call to a user who uses Microsoft Skype for Business on Mac.
To fix this issue, install the March 2018 cumulative update 6.0.9319.516 for Skype for Business Server 2015 and Unified Communications Managed API 5.0 Runtime. Note After you install this update, run the following Skype for Business management PowerShell command to enable the feature for Unified Communications Web API (UCWA): ‘Set-CsPlatformServiceSettings -AllowCallsFromNonContactsInPrivatePrivacyMode $true’ This feature can be set per pool, site, or global. |
|
Even after you enable the Push Notification feature for the Skype for Business for iOS client in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, the users of the Skype for Business for iOS still cannot receive notifications.
The IOS event channel doesn’t respond to the request of Skype for Business for iOS when the event key in the request is case-sensitive. |
Install Pre reqs!
To apply this update, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (Offline Installer or Web Installer) installed.
