I received new shoes in the mail today! Who doesn’t like new shoes and who better to share the wonderful news with than other runners who understand how awesome it is to get new running shoes.
This pair has my collection up to nine now. Yup, you read that right, nine. I firmly believe in alternating shoes between runs so that each pair gets a little rest.
Because of this rule, I have 4 pairs of trail shoes (2 are on the older side so they almost don’t count), 2 pairs of snow running shoes (my Wizard of Oz Dorothy red shoes), and now 3 pairs of road shoes.
Everyone, meet my shoes:
- Trail: Asics Fuji Racer, Fuji Trainer, Saucony Kinvara TR2 (haven’t even worn these yet), Salomon Speedcross 3
- Snow: Salomon Snowcross x 2 (one pair to be bedazzled)
- Road: Mizuno Wave Inspire 9, Saucony Kinvara 4, and the new Wave Inspire 10
I think I have a problem, although there are likely worse problems to have.
I really wanted the Wave Inspire 10’s in a brighter colour, but white was my only choice as sizes are always limited for me. You see, I have very large feet for a girl, more like long narrow feet. My physio even commented on my long toes. I translated that to mean I have yet another super power (don’t question it, just go with it).
Because of my long skinny feet, boy’s shoes are often too wide. Whenever I read a shoe review about a guy’s shoe and a comment is that they fit narrow I get a bit excited because these shoes may fit me and I can add them to my collection.
Sadly, I won’t be hitting the pavement with these pretty white shoes just yet as it’s still far too mucky and snowy outside for them. Maybe in another month.
Does anyone else out there have a collection like mine? Please tell me there is someone else out there with an extensive running shoe collection, please…

I do, and just added 2 more pairs today…this will bring my collection to 10…maybe 11? I need rehab. I only have 2 feet. Lol!

That makes me feel so much better knowing I’m not alone. It’s good to have options because conditions can change, a shoe might suddenly fall apart and you need a back-up pair – lol. Maybe we should start a support group?

I think you’re right! On all accounts. Lol

Not running shoes, but tennis shoes for me! I like Adidas Barricades. Do running shoes come in completely different designs for men v. women too? 😄

Adidas make awesome tennis shoes! I’ve noticed the widths are a bit wider in a men’s version of the same make and model and of course the colours are different. For some reason they don’t make the men’s shoes pink and purple.

I have long and narrow feet as well. I always say that if I could cut my toes off I would be able to wear so many shoes. ha! I have a 12 2A and can only wear Asics GT2000. They are the only ones that are narrow enough for me to wear day to day. For my racing flats I had to go to guys and wear a pair of New Balance ones. I really like them. They are so light and Warren wears them too. (same color so we get teased about matching shoes.)
We have the orange trail shoes you have in your pic..the Saucony ones. They are light which is great but just to let you know that the grip on them in wet/dry/dusty rocks is not that great. They are good for trail that is dry but we find they slip a little on rocks in either condition.
Happy running and I love all the colors. Men’s shoes are too wide for me as well.

Darn long toes hey! I could have so many pretty shoes if it wasn’t for them. t should try the GT2000. I’ve tried New Balance but I find the toe box doesn’t fit my feet quite right and I get blisters.
Thanks for the heads up about the Saucony trail shoes. I’ll be cautious when test driving them.

Yes, I found the same with NB when I started running. It wasn’t until I moved to Victoria that I found the right shoe for me. Good luck!

You need to do a review of the Saucony Kinvara trail when you break them in. I love my Kinvara’s and want to try the trail version.

I like the Kivara’s too and that was the main reason why I got the trail version. I’ll for sure do a review.

I have a collection of brooks pure flows. I was thinking of tweeting them a pic to see if I can get something for free! Hope you get to run soon!

I’ve never tried brooks, I’ll have to add them to my collection perhaps. Good idea to tweet them a photo, free stuff is the best.

I’m all about the Pure Flow.

That’s a good yogi master name too.

Mine isn’t as extensive as yours, but I have 5 pairs of runners! I think my collection of workout clothes is a little on the excessive side though haha.
March 19, 2014 at 6:44 pm
Ohhhh, I love work-out clothes too. Lots is good, then you don’t have to do laundry as much!
March 19, 2014 at 6:55 pm
EXACTLY! Haha.

If i could respond with a photo I would. Trust me. Oh, wait, I did post it! Here: http://elihawkinsblog.wordpress.com/2013/02/20/brooks-hey/
Basically… I’m a mess when it comes to Brooks shoes. (And Dante believes that all photos taken should be of him….)
