If you could bring back any commentator from the past, who would it be?

Rich Landrum, who was the host of the old World Wide Wrestling shows for Crockett Promotions in the late ’70s and early ’80s doesn’t get a lot of love or recognition, but he was a great commentator and was one of my favorites growing up. Bob Caudle was a favorite as well and I’d love to see Dutch Mantell show up and do some guest commentating for AEW or WWE at some point. The man knows how to call a match and tell a story at the same time. Very underrated in my opinion.

Whatever happened to Elix Skipper?

After a great start to his career in WCW and TNA, Skipper went to Japan at the invitation of the Great Muta and wrestled for a while as Dark Guerrera and Extreme Blade, alternating between the two identities. He retired from wrestling in 2008 and is currently a manager for an Applebee’s restaurant in Georgia.

Who was the biggest home-grown star of ECW?

In my opinion, I would have to say either Tommy Dreamer or The Sandman. Other names may have been bigger, but they generally got their breaks in other companies before going to ECW. Sandman did a surfer gimmick for IWCCW before entering the land of the Extreme. Dreamer worked the Indys as well but made his name as an ECW future legend.

Your thoughts on Orange Cassidy?

A good talent that has taken a joke gimmick and gone farther with it than he ever should have. I like Cassidy, but the kicks and the hands in the pockets get old fast. He’s an attraction and not a top-star wrestler who should be contending for titles or championships. He’s pretty much peaked as far as that gimmick can take him and needs to spice things up with some modifications to stay relevant.

Your thoughts on The Young Bucks?

They’re okay. A good and solid team but the hype exceeds the product in my opinion. I’d like to see them get serious for a change, which they seem to be doing currently in AEW. Maybe they’ve heard the criticism and are finally headed in the right direction. I’m taking a wait and see approach with these guys, but they’ll never be on the Midnight Express or Demolition level. Just saying.

Should AEW also do a tribute to the troops?

They already do in an event called “Fight For The Fallen”. It was about paying honor to the frontline against the Corona Virus as well as helping victims of gun violence. AEW shouldn’t try to be WWE but instead should do their own thing and with this event, they’re doing just that.

Would you like to see Chris Jericho versus Sting?

Jericho versus Sting has never been done, at least not on a major level, and yes, I would be interested in seeing it. Jericho is good enough to adapt to working safely with Sting and can protect him in any match, working around any limitations. The promos and build could be epic and while the match itself would probably suck, with a little smoke and mirrors, it would still be worth seeing. So Jericho versus Sting? I would say, “Yes!”.
