Cuckoo for You

Hello Paper Crafting Friends ~ welcome back to my corner of the world.

How do you feel about interactive cards?  I think they are great, especially if you can make them for children and particularly for the fellas in our lives – they do like something ‘mechanical’ or at least my fella does!

Admittedly there is some extra work need to make them but when you have the Cuckoo for You Bundle – well it just makes it so gosh darn easy!  Today I am sharing a video from Stampin’ UP! that shows you how to use this bundle to create a great card….. I am thinking that this could also make a simply perfect Christmas card as well!

The video introduces the dies and explains how to create the interactive bit, but I wanted to take a couple of minutes to share how the background was made.

8 1/2 x 41/4 piece of Crumb Cake card forms the base, the front of which has been run thru an embossing machine with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder.  A Whisper White Craft Stampin Pad has then been gently wiped across the embossed (side where texture stands outward) to create the ‘antiquey/distressed’ look

All the stamping has been done using Whisper White Card and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink then colored in using Stampin Blends or Watercolor Pencils.
