Oh, beautiful Beaujolais! This intriguing region, south of Burgundy, cultivates only Gamay (the vast majority of plantings) and Chardonnay grapes within 12 growing areas: 10 very special Crus plus Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages.
It still surprises me that in my 15 months living in France, I did not travel to the Beaujolais wine region, let alone visit the city of Lyon. I must have wanted to save a few highlights for my next trip to France!?!
