In 2017 I received the Creative in Residence position at the Northern Territory Archives Service in Darwin, Australia. What a fabulous opportunity to explore the intersection of NT history, original archives, animation and filmmaking.
I spent my residency researching Darwin’s infamous Fannie Bay Gaol and the real-life characters who were incarcerated there.

Launch of Under Lock and Key at The Northern Territory Archives Service
These films were all made using archival photographs. Below are some examples of how I transformed the originals to create the graphics for my animations.
