ABC Wins Friday In The U.S. ITV #1 In The UK. Seven Tops Down Under.

Today, traditional TV still accounts for the lion’s share of video viewing, but online and mobile are where the growth is. From fourth quarter 2012 to fourth-quarter 2013, the hours consumers spent watching online video grew 30%. When managed together, TV/digital/mobile hold the potential to drive real impact for advertisers—enabling them to maximize the customers they reach and/or reinforce key messaging across screens. After all, ‘It’s all about screens’.

ABC #1 on Friday as 'Shark Tank' top program.

ABC #1 on Friday as ‘Shark Tank’ top program.

ABC

The Alphabet Network ran its regular schedule and won the night. At 8P, ‘Last Man Standing’ drew 6.60 million viewers. At 830P, ‘Cristela’ while losing nearly 2 million viewers, finished with 4.70 million viewers. But then the #1 program on the night, ‘Shark Tank’ drew 7.10 million viewers to bring the network to the top. At 10P, ’20/20′ drew 6.2 million viewers.

CBS

The Tiffany Network got cocky on Friday, knowing they could run two of their regularly scheduled programs and inject a special in the middle. But what they forgot, ‘Hawaii Five-0’ is the glue that holds this evening together especially when you decide to rerun ‘Blue Bloods’. At 8P, ‘Amazing Race’ drew a respectable 6.17 million viewers. But it was 9P that pulled Black Rock down. ‘A Very Grammy Christmas’ was a ‘who cares’ as only 4.65 million bothered to tune in as it finished fourth in this time period that is always dominated by McGarrett and Crew. At 10P, ‘Blue Bloods’ had a rerun episode, a good one, but still a rerun, and while winning its time slot it only pulled in 6.30 million viewers, about 5 million less than normal.

FOX

The Animal Network of Broadcast was competitive on Friday as it devoted the evening to football. At 8P, the ‘pre-game Pac 12 Championship’ drew 3.74 million viewers. But at 830P, ‘The Pac 12 Championship’ in which the Oregon Ducks trounced the Arizona Wildcats drew 5.74 million viewers. The highlight was the halftime Dr. Pepper competition as a student from Oregon won a $100,000 scholarship.

NBC

The Peacock Network mailed it in on Friday. At 8P, ‘How Murray Saved Christmas’ didn’t with only 3.6 million viewers. Poor Murray. At 9P, ‘Grimm’ pulled in 5.00 million viewers. And at 10P, ‘Constantine’ drew 3.10 Murray lovers. It was a grim night for 30 Rock.

The CW

The Little Network That Couldn’t tried. At 8P, ‘America’s Next Top Model’ pulled in 1.2 million viewers. At 9P, ‘America’s Next Top Model’ drew 1.14 million viewers. That’s it. A little bit above average.

For The Record

ABC was #1 on Friday with 6.348 million viewers. CBS finished second with 5.808 million viewers. FOX finished third with 5.073 million viewers. NBC finished fourth with 3.898 million viewers. The CW finished with 1.165 million viewers.
