It is a sign? Several homes hit by meteors in recent months

13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. (Revelation 6:13 NIV)

An interesting article on Israel365 News reported on the number of houses around the world which have been hit by meteors in recent months and suggests that the number of meteor strikes is on the rise.

April 25, 2023: Four meteors hit the town of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany. One of the meteors, which was about 2.6 inches (6.6 cm) in diameter, actually smashed through the roof of a home. Though the three other meteors did not hit property, one of them which just missed a garden weighed 3.5 kilograms.

May 8, 2023: A meteor cut through the roof of a house in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. Fortunately, no one was injured by the metal meteor said to be 4 inches (ca. 10 cm) by 6 inches (ca. 15 cm) in size. It was part of the Eta Aquarids meteor shower that happens annually.

November 7, 2022: It’s believed that a home in Northern California was set on fire after it was hit by a meteor. Witnesses said they saw a “flaming basketball” falling from the sky and hitting the home. The meteor was undoubtedly part of the annual Taurids meteor shower that hits the earth in November and December.

October 12, 2021: A meteor smashed through the roof of a house in Golden, BC, Canada. The woman, who was asleep at the time, woke up to find the 2.8-pound (1.27 kg) meteor that was the size of a melon lying on the bed beside her.

Though Orthodox Jews have rejected Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, they still believe that their Messiah is coming and connect increased meteor activity as a sign of his imminent arrival.

Israel365 News explains:

The prophecies, the Talmud, and the Zohar all explicitly describe the astronomical phenomenon that will appear immediately before the Moshiach (Messiah) arrives,” Rabbi Eyal Riess, Director of the Tzfat Kabbalah Center, told Israel365 News. “Asteroids and meteors are clearly among them as signs of change and as elements that bring about the change.”

In Revelation 6:13, the Apostle John saw in his vision of the end times, a time of increased meteor/asteroid activity where several would slam into the earth. He compared it to figs hitting the ground after a great wind hit the tree.

This produced so much fear that it resulted in people fleeing to the mountains and caves for protection (Revelation 6:15).
