So I keep hearing about this place called Malaysia Boleh! in the Jurong Point shopping center. Well, last Saturday we decided to just take the MRT out there and try it.
About a 45 minute MRT ride for us, so we were hoping for some good stuff.
The place is just like any other regular storefront in the mall, and inside, it’s not so big. Very, very crowded and getting a seat is sometimes hard to come by.
So let’s get to the food. There’s so much to choose from, and I wanted to try them all, but we went for one dish each first, and then we were going to see if we were still hungry or not.
Lena needs her KL style Hokkien Mee. And there was a stall.
The guy fries on the spot, but he does anywhere from 3-6 orders at one time. So be prepared to wait until they have enough to do a batch. So no queue may look deceiving here.
The Hokkien Mee itself was a little too sweet we thought, but otherwise quite nice. For $4.50, not bad.
Sometimes your selection depends on the queue length. I wanted Penang Char Kway Teow, but the queue was just way too long. So then I saw Assam Laksa. Here I come! Easy to miss of course, because no sign, except in the green at the bottom. Lucky for me I saw it!
Nicely done. Broth nice, ingredients nice. I really enjoyed this one!
Our mouths were watering for the Claypot Chicken Rice, or the Wanton Mee, or the Curry Mee, but we just couldn’t eat another portion right then and there. So we decided to skip and went for Chendol instead to cool ourselves down.
Here it is, all presented nicely, and then all mixed up!
It was quite nice, not too sweet, just enough Gula Melaka to make it sweet and nice.
Malaysia Boleh! I will be back to try your other choices!!!!!!
The food is decent but the service of some hawkers can be downright rude. Not a place to return to for me.
