Liverpool accept invitation to join Mid-Week League

The Northern Mid-Week League financial statement for last season shows a very slight gain. The balance to the credit of the League is now £30 1s 6d.

By consistent form throughout the season, Burnley have for the second time won the League cup and medals, and Messrs. H. Windle (chairman), T.A. Barcroft (treasurer), and E. Norman (secretary), the signatories of the report, heartily congratulated them.

Liverpool, it is announced, have accepted the invitation to join the Mid-Week League.

The experiment of appointing young referees for our games has, on the whole, proved satisfactory,” it is stated. “With the help of clubs we hope to extend the experiment further during the coming season.
