Finalist Speak: The power to make a significant difference in someone’s life

Volunteering for me began as a penchant for exploring the world around me. I became aware of the inequalities surrounding me and craved to create a positive change. In my third year at college, I sought the vision to make the blind feel empowered. At 19, I started my first organization that did a not-for-profit charity show that included 184 blind girls walking the ramp wearing top designer labels and getting groomed by the top salon of Ahmedabad while being in the limelight and walking on the ramp. The girls feeling no less than a supermodel was the belief we based our show on. We merged the social sector and corporate sector and raised funds for their education.

With completing my bachelors in dental surgery next year, I am extremely passionate about health care and fitness and in the process of creating ‘Pink Health’ a platform that will provide dental treatment in metros as well as remotest parts of India while promoting the significance of oral health care.

The power to make a significant difference in someone’s life is what gives us maximum joy and is what we all are here for. I believe that ‘ Givers gain ‘ and that is what I strive to incorporate in everything that I chose to do.

I was honored to be shortlisted as one of the finalists for ‘Youth Champion‘ category in iVolunteer Awards 4th Edition. I got the opportunity to meet amazing people who are doing brilliant work across India and got to exchange experiences stories and ideas.

Putting volunteering under the limelight and making it glamorous by having an awards night exclusively for recognizing works of various volunteers across India is something that will encourage more of the youngsters to take it up. It also promotes the works and cherishes the volunteers who are otherwise selflessly working for the betterment.

Gratitude towards iVolunteer organization.

iVolunteer Awards identify the champions leading the volunteering movement in India, the contribution of volunteers and organisations who promote their engagement and help create an environment that inspires more people to volunteer for India’s development. Held annually since 2012, iVolunteer Awards are, today, the premier national recognition for volunteering in India.
