I heard this interview on the radio today.
It is even better to watch Jake Tapper interview Michael Moore.
It begins with a discussion of Trump tweeting a selection of a quote from Moore, that gave the false impression that Moore is a supporter.
It only takes about 3 minutes.
Michael moore is a complete liar and is an anathema to America. Shame on anyone who quotes this liar.
Are y ou serious?
At the Academy Awards, prior to the Iraq war, Moore said there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. It turned out he was right.
And, Trump, whose lies are challenged daily, e.g. his recent claim that he didn’t support the Iraq war, is the Republican candidate for President. What an embarrassment for America.
Donald Trump is a complete liar and is an anathema to America. Shame on anyone who bloviates for this liar. Thank you Mike Moore for fighting the good fight.
Joe with all of Trumps faults (And I can’t stomach watching him). I could vote for him if I felt he represented my economic interest, my world view. He doesn’t in any way form or shape. So here I am voting for Hillary who on so many levels is upsetting to say the least. Voting for her because at worst she will do less harm and possibly some good.
But I vote on ideology. Is it a surprise that today’s polls show a tightening irregardless of the Comey criminal action. ,( I was outraged in July when he conducted a trail without a judge or jury.)
Guess what, the Democrats and the Clinton’s have been too clever by half. Did they really think that Republicans, Republican women were going to vote against their ideological views. No matter how many former Republican cabinet officials they toted out. Like Paul Ryan they will vote for the party nominee ,Donald whats his name.
So what does this mean ? Well for starters they nominated Clinton. Which means that they (the party machinery )are counting on two demographics that may not be there for them in the numbers that are required to win this thing. to take control of congress or at least the Senate .
The Republican agenda has been at odds with the economic interests of the vast majority of Americans for fifty years or more. It is not that our politics are too divisive . They have not been divisive enough. Roosevelt won five terms (Truman), because he represented the progressive economic view America needed.
If the Republicans win this election it will set this country back for a generation on many key issues . It will decimate the working class of this nation and entrench the oligarchy.
It will be because that clear vision for the future of America has not been delineated between two essentially corporatist parties.
Anyone who thinks that Trump represents their economic interests is, at the least, not paying attention. Not to mention ignoring all the vicious, nasty, idiotic and demagogic speeches he has made. I’m not giving these people a pass because Trump is so blatantly hateful and divisive.
Agreed, Joe.
If elected, Trump will have show trials for his enemies.
Glad I am not important enough for him to notice.
Orange is the new black.
Trial thats about the fith time i did that!!!
Fifth
When we saw the sentencing of Atlanta teachers, who were forced to play the rich man’s, testing rephorm games, it was confirmation that the U.S. justice system is broken. That’s when we all should have rioted in the streets. Bankers weren’t jailed. Bankers weren’t forced to falsify to keep their jobs. And, their payoffs were thousands times greater than the average pittance of $3,000 that the teachers got.
Yes, Linda, Atlanta was a farce. Harsh justice for teachers who cheated, no sanctions for those who destroyed the economy and caused millions to lose their homes.
This reminds me how 3 minutes with Michael Moore feels like 3 hours.
Boring, only to you. I watched the taping from 8:30-11:30 and was happy to be in the audience, listening to a great man of extraordinary insight. He has compassion, intellect and talent that far exceeds the plutocrats and their minions, who hold sway with the oligarch-driven media.
Taping of Trumpland.
Poor Michael is rudderless and he made excellent and funny films too,
he should stick with that.
The idea of liberal and conservative is being dissolved in this election, the jig is up to the American people, and they are going to Trump, as Moore says, the big F*** You vote.
My concern is that we are threatening the Russians, and when the nuclear bombs fall with Hillary, it won’t matter to what sex bathroom you will have to retreat, as the Russians are preparing their population for the worst, and we are concerned about “Mr. Weiner’s Great Adventure”.
Joseph,
Liberal and conservative are still meaningful.
Hillary is liberal in her promise to choose a Supreme Court that will roll back Citizens United and preserve abortion rights, gay rights, civil rights, and environmental regulations.
But, as many conservative newspapers have said when endorsing Hillary, Trump is no conservative. He is not even a Republican. He represents a radical rightwing fringe that opposes civil rights, is openly anti-black, anti-Semitic, and hates anyone who is not a white Christian.
As I become older, and hopefully wiser, Diane, I begin seeing outside the matrix. the two party system conditions the electorate to “us against them”. Now, there is a serious crack in the system, and we have a large voting block that considers themselves “independent”, and look to vote for the person, who will do the least damage. They are no longer falling into the lock step of the parties. They recognize that many social issues are becoming distractions to the events that are being engendered by political and economic corruption (including the media). We are at the dawn of a new day, as both parties are exposed as corrupt and very distant from “We the People”,
Even in education we can see that all of the problems are linked to profit, like Charters and technology, and not really about the education that would foster “We the People”.
If as Joseph says social issues are a distraction . Which they are, they have been used by the right for decades to cover destructive economic policy.
By what metric of policy is Trump not a conservative.
Education ? (Privatize)
Taxes? (Trickle Down)
Labor Rights ? (Right to Work)
Civil Rights? (Race baiting disenfranchising Demagogue )
Police and criminal Justice? (Central park five decades later ,says enough )
Foreign Policy ?(Iran, Israel, the military is weak? )
Attacks not only on Obama care but the idea of single payer
Sorry I think they may be embarrassed by him ,but conservatives love him and are voting for him overwhelmingly
Joel,
Trump has his basket of deplorables but he has reversed GOP policy on trade (they are the free-trade party) and immigration (the GOP always wanted immigration to drive down wages). And Russia! The GOP has always been hard-line against the USSR and Russia, and Trump thinks Putin is his best friend. Joe McCarthy must be rolling in his grave!
When JFK tried to make peace with Russia and end the cold war, he was assassinated. we are now reliving a new cold war as neoliberals, using social language code words, tell the rest of the world, “it’s my way or the highway.” Agreed, both Parties have their code words, resonating in a closed matrix of thinking to keep the system alive. Even Michael Moore speaks of the overwhelming amount of issues that “all people” have in common. But the system and media is designed to create division. The timing of using social issues of controversy is usually masking another event of great importance. We are all conditioned by mass media to take the red meat. Like the protagonist in the movie “Television”. “I have had enough, and I am not going to take it anymore.” The current election is exciting because the “emperor has no clothes” on both sides. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”.
Sorry, Joseph, but I am not prepared to entrust the fate of the nation to a man who is not only ignorant (he insisted that Russia would not invade Crimea two years after it had one so), but is obsessed with greed and lust.
