I am planting a new organisation today called the School of Wyrdynamics or SOW. You know me and my wordplay. SOW is a female pig. I was born in the Chinese year of the Boar and I am female. So that fits. But the way it will be pronounced is SOW as in sowing seeds.

Dictionary defintions of “sow” include to scatter (seed) over land, earth, etc., for growth, plant, to implant, introduce, promulgate, seek to propagate or extend, to strew or sprinkle with anything.

Wyrd  means ‘that which has turned’ or ‘that which has become’. It embodies the idea that everything is turning into something else whilst both being drawn in toward and moving out from its own origins. So wyrd is a process that continually works the patterns of the past into the patterns of the present.That sounds like a person/identity life story being described doesn’t it…

In personal human terms wyrd means that our past, in terms of both our ancestry and our personal history is always woven into things and affecting us..  Plus every choice we make in the present builds upon choices we have previously made. So the future is already woven in the past and present. Present = pre-sent. So, at the same time that we are  experiencing certain patterns of wyrd, we are also creating them. It is embeeded and interactive.

It combines my interests in tarot, energy systems like Reiki, wicca/magickal theory and ritual, my interest in nature, psychic readings and creative intuition, dreams, the unconscious, psychoanalytic theory and interpretation, sociology, gematria, quantum physics etc. I am continually exploring life whilst living it of course as a participant observer. So this is a school which means that it will be an exploration, a practice and a continual emergence or unfoldment.

The School’s intention has been set to explore, discuss , learn, teach, sow and create so that each new day, each new moment is used to sow seeds mindfully.

It is really a metaphor (a metaphor is a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, especially something abstract) of my life’s unfoldment.
