53% of America’s voters in this year’s presidential election were women and this was their chance to finally crack the greatest glass ceiling of them all and elect the first woman POTUS in the history of the United States. And they could have done it without any men votes at all!
But instead only 54% of the 53% voted for Hillary while an astonishing 53% of all white women voters voted for Donald. I say astonishingly only because you would never see this happen among men. If we know that we control the outcome of something we definitely win that something.
And according to the AP, six in 10 women were bothered by how Trump treated women, compared to about four in 10 men but again, that didn’t make any difference at all.
So basically America’s white women have spoken not only to America’s women but to the watching world of women everywhere and have said: “We don’t need no stinking rights! We have men!”
So ladies? Good luck with that.

I am outraged! I can’t believe women didn’t vote for Clinton. It’s absolutely mystifying.
It is a dark, dark day for women…and men. Will we come to our senses? One can only hope.

Don’t you think it’s remotely possible that people made their voting decisions on something other than the gender of the candidate and that many people found Hillary Clinton wanting because of her actions and conduct over the years? Ignoring that reality absolves the Clintons and the Democrat Party of responsibility for their role in this responsibility.
Nah, think you’re wrong. I think women said ‘We HAVE rights, and we’re obviously more capable than men of thinking beyond gender’. Not that I’d have voted for Trump, but I’d have had a hard time voting for Clinton as well, and her gender wouldn’t have entered the equation one way or the other. We do actually think, you know!
Good Lord! He insulted every woman that he came across in this election. He has cheated on every woman that he has ever married. He publicly holds women in contempt and makes absolutely no bones about it and then smiles and says that “I love women. I really, really do.” And then 53% of white women in America vote for him. What do they think he is going to do for them now? Respect their rights to health care? Abortion? Planned Parenthood? Pay in the work place? Equal rights? Rights to same sex marriage? Childcare? Maybe he’ll offer all women a prenup deal like our new First Lady has? Behave yourselves and we won’t deport you? Who knows… but if he decides to slap you all around a little no men will be surprised.
Yep, all of that. My opinion of Trump is probably even lower than yours. and requires words I don’t normally use. But don’t you think it’s rather insulting to assume that women should vote for a woman simply BECAUSE she’s a woman? Or that they’d vote for Trump BECAUSE he’s a man? Polls indicate that 6 out of 10 women (and only 4 out of 10 men) are appalled by Trump’s sexism, but there are far greater issues than gender facing America, and even though I can’t agree with their decision, I give American women credit for thinking beyond their female egos. As for what Trump won’t do for them – do you really think Clinton would have if pressure groups and big business had told her not to? Do you think she’d have been any more successful than Obama in breaking the choke hold of the NRA, or rolling out universal health care?
And let’s not forget that Bill Clinton couldn’t keep his pants zipped in the Oval Office itself, lied about it and still stayed in office, which is no reflection on Hillary, but a very big reflection on the acceptance of frat-boy games among the rich and powerful. Makes me sick, but any Americans I’ve asked (mostly Dems) seem to think Caesar’s private life doesn’t matter, let alone his wife’s.

Yup, unbelievable, isn’t it? I am still in shock! How could ANY woman vote for a man who said and did the things he did? I am completely bewildered.
Stop. Just stop. Yes, the Donald is not what we want, but neither was Hillary. We don’t just vote with our genitals. There were huge issues here. Hillary has baggage that made it difficult for any progressive to support her–she’s a war-mongering hawk; she has her fingerprints all over ISIS and the American support for the weapons industry in the Middle East; she supports the oil industry in our headlong pursuit of frying the planet; she supports Chemical Ag–with Monsanto at the top of the list; she gives lip service to the corruption of politics with money (all while holding her hand out under the table to every corporation or country with a wallet); she got caught, cheating and colluding in the most anti-democratic display of manipulation since Daley’s dead voters; and she felt that she didn’t have to listen to the voters. Her loss was self-inflicted. Ours will take years to heal.

Nobody planned on the clean sweep. But I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Hillary. I voted progressive down-ticket all the way. Unfortunately, given the numbers, it appears that the left’s shared antipathy for the top of the ticket meant a lot of people just stayed home. Six million fewer voted. As for me, I’m finished with voting for evil. This go around and in the future, I’m voting for what I want, not what I fear. No apologies.
I think that will be very interesting, given that a lot a Republicans are horrified by him. Will they hold him down for the good of the country, or support him along party lines?
As much as I would like to disagree I can’t. I had to eventually take myself off Facebook because my brain couldn’t handle it anymore. I’m 43 but decided at the age of 36 to go back to school. I was surrounded by 17/18 year old women. I was the oldest. They were pleasant enough but their way of thinking was definitely different than mine was at that age. I stayed in touch with the class on Facebook until I started to notice the majority of them supporting Trump. I lost it when one quoted Ted Nugent and defended something he said. I couldn’t believe the support he had with women in their 20’s. I didn’t get it.

So that’s what you’re doing? Blaming the women for the outcome? Wow. He belittled blacks, hispanics, people with disabilities. What are the stats on those demographics? You don’t have them? Didn’t bother to look them up? The media didn’t produce those? I’m disappointed in you. You’re better than finger pointing like that.
Nope not blaming. Just pointing out that women are a majority in this country not a minority as they are often treated. Women could run the entire show if they wanted but they can never muster enough of their own votes to elect more women into important places in our democratic system. I believe that if they wanted to they could govern this country much better than men have proven they cannot.
I think there is a lot to be said for the outcome of this election. I was certainly surprised by the statistics – 53% of white women voted for Trump. White women got women’s suffrage in 1920 after years of protesting (Alice Paul and the Silent Sentinels silently protested every day for 2-3 years in front of the White House (with a lot of jail time and abuse). Alice Paul also continued to work to get the Equal Pay Act of 1963 AND Civil Rights Act of 1964 (which was huge for outlawing discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. It also ended unequal voter registration which opened up voting for black women completely).
But.. somewhere in the 70s they just stopped. They became completely compliant. You have women who are most likely very comfortable at home and you have women who are working their buts off as professionals. I think that is where we see the majority of the 43%(professionals) and 53%(comfortable living situation) is at. I, myself, who voted democrat, for various reasons, was hugely disappointed and upset by seeing that statistic. I do not relate to that 53%. I can’t understand how, in my opinion, they seem to have voted against their best interests. I have since then been reading and trying to figure out that particular vote.
