Top Ten Most Memorable Secondary Characters

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they will post a new Top Ten list that one of the bloggers there at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join!

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday post, with my insanely busy schedule and trying to adjust to a significant drop in the amount of time I have each week to devote to reading thanks to my job change. But I liked this week’s topic, and am trying to slowly get back into the blogging flow of things, so decided I definitely wanted to participate. My choices are probably a bit off the wall – I tried to stay away from those really well known books, although a few of them did sneak onto the list – but hopefully I’ve managed to find a few that folks agree with.

  1. Great list! Nico di Angelo is a really interesting character and how he fits in to the Percy Jackson series really added to the story.

    • Merin says:

I love Nico. I’m hoping we’ll see lots more of him in the upcoming House of Hades, because I think he has the potential to be even more awesome. :)

  2. Lucy says:

I’ve been meaning to start the Unbreakable series, so I’m glad there are such memorable characters in the book. Siege and Storm is another one I need to read soon. Thanks for sharing your faves. Hope the new job is going well.

    • Merin says:

Barclay really doesn’t do anything for you until Unbreakable, but I liked Janelle a lot, and Ben was rather swoon-worthy, too, so there’s plenty to like about Unraveling. I hope you enjoy them once you do get a chance to read them!

  3. Rebecca says:

I loved Barclay in Unbreakable, but not so much in Unraveling. He was one of those characters that sneak up on you. I love Kanin in the Blood of Eden series! Jackal is also pretty awesome – the pair of them are much more interesting than Zeke, honestly. Lovely list!

    • Merin says:

Oh, I agree. I really didn’t like him much at all in Unraveling, but I was swooning pretty hard over him in Unbreakable. Talk about a character who did a 180! I absolutely adored him throughout that entire book. :)

  4. ChrissiReads says:

I think I need to start the Unraveling series! I’ve heard such good things! :-) Great list.

  5. I LOVE Nico! I definitely liked him best in The Titan’s Curse, but I really love how his character has changed and grown over the series. I like that he’s the dark horse and pretty mysterious. And of course, Thalia is like, the badass of all badasses.

    • Merin says:

Thalia is amazing. I just adore her strength, and the way she and Percy managed to be friends even though kids of Poseidon and Zeus usually don’t get along. I love the way her story arc played out!

  6. I preferred Jackal over Kanin, he was so much more fun! :)

  7. Amanda says:

Oh, Nico is a good one! Hoping he’s more of a focus on the upcoming novel!

  8. Okay, I haven’t actually read any of these and I’m not sure why. They sound so great … I can sense my TBR pile is about to get a lot bigger!

  9. Candice says:

Oh I forgot the girls from Gallagher Girls! I adore Macey… almost more than I adore Cammie! Nico wasn’t my favorite most times, but Thalia Grace surely was! I loved her story, both what happened to her when she was younger and then what she ended up becoming. Great list!

  10. Nico is amazing, I’m hoping to see more of him. I love how you set your list up. It’s so pretty.

  11. I knoe only Thalia and Nico. This is soooo depressing. Seems like I haven’t read anything!

Thanks for visiting! I love receiving comments and do my best to respond to all of them. However, due to time constraints, this blog is now an award and tag free zone. I really appreciate the thought, but just don't have the time to pass them on.
