Skin Touching Skin – Narciso Rodriguez Musc For Her Perfume Oil Review & Giveaway

Narciso Rodriguez Musc for Her
Narciso Rodriguez Musc For Her

When it comes to wearing perfume one would consider oneself as a traditionalist, preferring the tried and tested method of spraying (usually copiously) over dabbing or rolling. Concentrations too are a very non-experimental area for this perfume blogger who most definitely prefers Eau de Parfum to anything else.

Perfume oils are not something one would usually even try let alone wear, mainly due to the fact that they are designed to wear close to skin and for a lover of nuclear sillage that simply is not cricket. But one must try everything at least once and thanks to Escentual.com there may just be a musk oil that cuts the mustard – Musc for Her by Narciso Rodriguez. (Slightly NSFW pic below the jump)

“Dress your skin in a new form of Narciso Rodriguez elegance. The Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Oil is a precious way to wear the iconic For Her fragrance.

Back and even more luxurious than before, the Musc oil is inspired by the mysterious depths of Egyptian Musk, a scent that Narciso himself wears like a lucky charm. Truly sensuous, the fragrance holds itself close to the skin and invites others to come closer.

The Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Oil is to be worn alone for personal pleasure, or with the eau de parfum to elevate its musky notes to another level of seduction.”

How Does it Smell?

First things first, Musc for Her is not just a different way of wearing Narciso Rodriguez For Her, it’s also an entirely different fragrance. Another thing to bear in mind is the fact that it’s also completely linear, meaning that what one gets at first sniff is pretty much what you’re left with at the end of the oil’s life span.

For the most part Musc for Her is, rather unsurprisingly, a delicate floral musk but it does have a pleasing palette of complexities. There are small hints of sweet earth, mushrooms and mint throughout, and in harmony they create a textured musk that at once feels both rich and translucent.

The musk itself is skin-like in the sense that it smells like warm and salty skin. It is human without being at all funky or animalic, almost as if these naked bodies are seen as a work of art rather than an object of coitus. It calls to mind the black and white works of photographer Herb Ritts, where the naked form is presented in soft light with little fanfare – this isn’t a musk to shock, this is a musk to adore.

This musky veil gives of that wonderful ‘your skin but better vibe’ and whilst there is a suggestion that it should be layered with the original EDP, one recommends that one applies completely in isolation and enjoys the quiet hum of something that is completely and utterly sensual.
