Dear Mom & Dad,
I’m sure this ‘Thank You’ note seems quite contrary to my persona, but it’s no-less sincere.
I’ve realized how my past ungrateful behaviors have hurt you. I apologize for it all.
The incredible gala you created for my marriage to Harry left me breathless.
As I’m sitting on the balcony with this magical view of Portofino, I’m tearful of the years we’ve missed together. Milestone celebrations; each lost along the way.
Your description of our honeymoon get-a-way was on target, to the last detail.
Spellbound describes how I feel today.
All my love,
Meghan

I simply needed two names for my characters. I have no clue about Meghan or Harry’s lives. Thanks 😎

Yes, making amends is a healing process. I know of many people who go to their graves without closure on some of their altercations.
Perhaps, pride or stubbornness or lack of maturity. Thanks, Dale for popping by. I know you’re swamped with boxes so your visit is truly appreciated. Have a super week …

A sweet story, realizing the sacrifices of her parents and expressing her appreciation. What every parent wishes to hear.

Yes, I agree. Parents don’t always get the appreciation they deserve.
It’s better to realize it before it is too late to say.
Glad you enjoy, Brenda. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

At last she is realising her mistake. The house is bringing the change in her. Better late than never to have said sorry.

My plan was to show the power of recognizing the errors of our ways in general for all who live with altercations. I didn’t relaize when I selected the names for the characters that it could be interpreted as a story about the royals. Thank you for commenting, Abhijit.

I think reconciliation is often avoided. I thought this letter was a good way to show that people can make amends even with their parents. Thank you for enjoying my story enough to leave a comment. I greatly appreciate it.

In my work, I urge people all the time to make amends with those who have hurt them, or that they have hurt. It’s a much happier way to live!

It must be very rewarding to see them come together again after an estrangement. A way of life more people need to begin to live in order have harmony in their lives. 🙏

A lovely story, Isadora. Her parents gave the young couple a great gift in that honeymoon so deserved an appreciative note. This couple is starting off in the right way. Hopefully, it will continue that way. Well written, 🙂 — Suzanne

I had an English teacher (nun) who believed in ‘Thank you’ notes and handwritten letters. She started a pen-pal writing challenge for us to do. I was friends with my pen-pal until she passed away. I loved and still love to send cards, letters and Thank you’s.
I appreciate your stopping by and commenting. Thank you : )

My mom taught me the value of thank you notes when I was little. At the time I did not appreciate being made to sit down and write them, but she was right 🙂

There are so many things that our parents or teachers show us that we don’t appreciate until we’re older. I wish these traditions could continue. Thanks for visiting and commenting, Meg. Have a wonderful week.

I love receiving ‘Thank you’ notes from dinner guests or over-nighters.
It’s happening less and less day by day. Sad.

I’ve been doing, Seyi. Taking each day as it comes. I’m hoping
to do a post on a recent stressful time. I still can’t seem to write it all down.
Life is about our journey’s. The ups and downs and the ebbs and flows.
We aren’t given any struggles we can’t handle.
Yes, it has been a long time. Hope all is well with you.

Thank you, Keith, for your very nice comment.
I believe we need to let those we love how much they mean
to us before time runs out and we cannot. Children need to express to parents
how much they appreciate the things they sacrifice to do for them.
Have a great week ….

I’m not sure Meghan owes her father any kind of apology. 😉 IMHO. Love the letter for this magical couple. Bien escrito mi amiga.

Querida Rochelle,
No es un cuento de verdad. I was playing with character names. Meghan popped into my mind; then, Harry. It’s a tale of parents and children who can have issues and sometimes come back around.
Gracias,
Isadora 😎

Hi Sandra,
Welcome and thank you for commenting. Yes, I was going for a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor. I’m trying my hand at approaching the prompts with a less drama and intensity. I’m not sure if I’m going to do well in that genre. 🙄 Thanks again …

I wish Larry was right in his connection to the royals.
I was searching for names for my story and Meghan came up first.
I thought I’d add Harry as a bit of humor. It’s a story more about
parents and relationships to their adults kids. Thank you for commenting.
I appreciate it so much.

It’s a coincidence that my story is thought to be about the royals. LOL
I just happen to have used the names for my characters. I have no clue about the royals and their issues. : O
The story is about reconciliation. Parents are always neglected when it comes to their adult children appreciating
the sacrifices they make. I was trying to show it’s possible for them to realize it even if it’s late.
Thanks for visiting, Iain.
