Stars color trends challenge

I made this card for the Embellish Magazine ‘Stars color trend challenge’, and even though I’m too late to participate in the challenge I still wanted to share it with you…

I started with an A5 ready-made card and stamped it all over with the stars from the Waltzingmouse set ‘Midnight Feast‘ and the American Crafts set ‘Trailer’, leaving a space for the sentiment (also from ‘Trailer’). Next I picked a piece of green card from my stash and cut it to size and cut it into some ‘hills’ and stuck it to the front of the card with pritt stick.

I got some red card, also from my stash and cut two ‘tent’ shapes and scored the card to make the tent, cut a slit to make the tent opening and attached to the card with double-sided tape and some mini foam pads so the tent openings were further out from the card than the back.

Next I found some textured red card that had been used for another project, but it was just what I was after! I drew on it with an embossing pen and covered it with turquoise embossing powder and zapped it with my heat gun. I cut a strip for the post of the sign and stuck it to the card with double-sided tape and cut some notches in the sides of the sign and attached it over the top of the post with foam pads. I stamped the car from ‘Trailer’ onto white card in Watermark Ink and again embossed in turquoise powder and fussy-cut it, attaching it to the card with double-sided tape. Last but not least I coloured in the card inside the tents with black pen, coloured in the car wheels and drew a little campfire…
